All five trailers on this page follow the same structure: a DD 5.1 version in mkv and a TrueHD 7.1 version in m2ts. No lossless Atmos this time — this is straight TrueHD 7.1 territory, one step below the full Atmos files on page 6. The TrueHD versions consistently pull more downloads than the 5.1 ones across the board.
City Redux leads the page with around 20,000 downloads for the TrueHD version. It’s also the largest file at 85.6MB and the longest at 23 seconds. Worth noting that there’s also a SD version of City Redux back on page 2 — that one is VOB and PAL, this one is 1080p and proper HD.
Countdown v1 and Countdown v2 are 20 and 21 seconds respectively, similar size, similar download numbers — around 16,000 and 15,000 for the TrueHD versions. The content differs enough to make running both worthwhile if you’re comparing receiver settings back to back.
Digital Plus is the format oddity here. It’s a Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 file — not TrueHD, not Atmos — which puts it in a different category from everything else on this page. DD+ is a compressed format used mainly in streaming, so it’s less common in a home theater demo context. TrueHD downloads sit at around 18,790, the second highest on the page.
The Dolby TrueHD Catalyst demo is the shortest at 12 seconds and the least downloaded at around 15,620 for the TrueHD version. Small file, quick check — same functional role as Wizzard or Fire in the SD section. Despite its modest numbers, the Dolby TrueHD Catalyst demo is worth keeping for quick TrueHD decoding verification before running a longer file.
The mkv files carry DD 5.1, the m2ts files TrueHD 7.1 — both 1080p. VLC handles either without issues. For TrueHD bitstreaming to a receiver you’ll want HDMI passthrough, which means Kodi or MPC-HC rather than basic media apps.
